In this 10 minute awareness documentary we will be exploring the lack of understanding of the disease Endometriosis, through discussions with the general public, health professionals and the Department of Health (Australia.)
What do we want to achieve from making this doco?
We want everyone to understand this disease, so workplaces will be more empathetic and understanding with people who have the disease. We want change to the medication on the PBS, to allow for more Endo related medications on it, instead of contraception based methods. We also want women in regional centres to not have to go to the city to get a proper diagnosis, more education is needed in regional centres. This disease doesn't just happen in the capital cities, this happens all around Australia.
Ultimately we want a less invasive surgery for a diagnosis and we need a CURE!
Did you know? 1 in 9 women have endometriosis. This disease affects EVERYONE- families, relationships, work and everyday life for the people who are exposed to the disease.
